QUALITY ASSURANCE SPECIALIST

Qualifications:
In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Experience required:
To qualify based on your work experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. To qualify at the GS-05, applicants must possess at least three years of general experience, one year of which was equivalent to at least GS-04, which prepared you to do the work in this job. This includes includes experience in quality control; quality inspection; contracting and purchasing; supply and storage; industrial or production planning; research and engineering; maintenance; test and evaluation that provided experience with quality assurance or related work; Or experience interpreting and applying contract requirements and engineering specifications; OR a bachelor's degree in quality assurance, statistics, mathematics, production management, industrial management, computer science, engineering, engineering technology, physical sciences, textiles, or other fields related to the position. To qualify at the GS-07, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade/level (GS-05). Specialized experience is defined as:
work that involves monitoring, controlling, or maintaining the quality of products or services such as:
reviewing production activities and capabilities in light of contract quality requirements; OR reviewing written quality or inspection procedures for adequacy; OR analyzing quality data to detect unsatisfactory trends or weaknesses in the quality/inspection system; OR verifying by test or inspection that products comply with requirements prior to acceptance; OR identifying inadequacies and requesting corrective action; OR computing data, summarizing results, and preparing reports or charts depicting pertinent relationships using statistical methods; OR investigating customer complaints and deficiency reports, and providing identification of causes to appropriate authorities; OR reading, interpreting, and applying technical data such as blueprints, engineering drawings, product specifications, or technical manuals; OR a Bachelor's degree in quality assurance, statistics, mathematics, production management, industrial management, computer science, engineering, engineering technology, physical sciences, textiles, or other fields related to the position AND Superior Academic Achievement (S.A.A); OR 1 full year of graduate level education in quality assurance, statistics, mathematics, production management, industrial management, computer science, engineering,engineering technology, physical sciences, textiles, or other fields related to the position. Superior Academic Achievement is obtained through:
(1) Class standing - being in the upper third of the graduating class in the college, university, or major subdivision based on completed courses; (2) Grade-point average - (a) having a grade-point average of 3.0 or higher out of a possible 4.0 as recorded on the official transcript, or as computed based on 4 years of education, or as computed based on courses completed during the final 2 years of the curriculum; or (b) having a grade point average of 3.5 or higher out of a possible 4.0 based on the average of the required courses completed in the major field or the required courses in the major field completed during the final 2 years of the curriculum; or, (3) Election to membership in a national scholastic honor society. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas:

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
