Norgate Technology, Inc. in Garden City, NY has multiple openings for Systems Engineers to analyze engineering data processing problems in order to implement and improve computer systems. Individuals will apply advanced theoretical knowledge of computer science and engineering principles and concepts, as well as experience using standard occupational tools, to perform the following job duties:
Analyze user requirements, procedures, and problems to automate or improve existing systems and review computer system capabilities, workflow, and scheduling limitations. Provide system administration using AIX, Linux and Solaris. Determine impact of changes, recommend and facilitate delivery to users. Monitor systems, servers and auxiliary devices for performance and security. Analyze and create the best KPI value for dashboard monitoring. Write shell scripts in automating redundant tasks and for creating monitoring scripts to analyze the system's performance to reduce the tasks involving manual intervention. Perform In-active Account Reviews across all systems, platforms and applications. Perform Log Review across all systems and platforms. Create and establish single sign-on for all the intranet services. As assigned, perform other duties normally associated with this occupation.
REQUIREMENTS: Master's degree in Computer Science or any STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) field of study and three (3) years of experience in the job offered, or three years of experience in any position providing the required skills and ability. In lieu of the stated primary education and experience requirements, employer will accept a Bachelors degree in Computer Science or any STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) field of study, plus five (5) years of post-degree, progressive and related experience that provided the required skills and abilities. Any suitable combination of education, training or experience is acceptable. The term suitable, in this context, means substantial compatibility with stated academic level and job experience requirements and ability to perform job duties.

Travel: No travel; no telecommuting. Job duties are project-based and performed on long-term assignments at various unanticipated sites within the United States which may require relocation at the end of each project.
