Norgate Technology, Inc. in Garden City, NY has multiple openings for Sr. Oracle Developers to coordinate and direct the activities of subordinate engineers using Oracle software to develop, create, and modify general computer applications software or specialized utility programs. Individuals will apply advanced theoretical knowledge of computer science and engineering principles and concepts, as well as experience with Oracle development and application software, to perform the following job duties:
Analyze user needs and develop software solutions. Design software or customize software for client use with the aim of optimizing operational efficiency. Coordinate and direct the design of databases within an application area. Organize and synchronize software professionals to modify existing software to correct errors, allow it to adapt to new hardware, or to improve its performance. Develop, direct and monitor software system testing and validation procedures, programming, and documentation. Confer with systems analysts, engineers, programmers and others to design system and to obtain information on project limitations and capabilities, performance requirements and interfaces. Analyze user needs and software requirements to determine feasibility of design within time and cost constraints. Design, develop and modify software systems, using scientific analysis and mathematical models to predict and measure outcome and consequences of design. Store, retrieve, and manipulate data for analysis of system capabilities and requirements. Consult with customers about software system design and maintenance. Supervise the work of programmers, technologists and technicians and other engineering and scientific personnel. Coordinate software system installation and monitor equipment functioning to ensure specifications are met. Obtain and evaluate information on factors such as reporting formats required, costs, and security needs to determine hardware configuration.
REQUIREMENTS: Master's degree in Computer Science or any STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) field of study and three (3) years of experience in the job offered, or three years of experience in any position providing the required skills and ability. In lieu of the stated primary education and experience requirements, employer will accept a Bachelors degree in Computer Science or any STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) field of study, plus five (5) years of post-degree, progressive and related experience that provided the required skills and abilities. Any suitable combination of education, training or experience is acceptable. The term suitable, in this context, means substantial compatibility with stated academic level and job experience requirements and ability to perform job duties.

Travel: No travel; no telecommuting. Job duties are project-based and performed on long-term assignments at various unanticipated sites within the United States which may require relocation at the end of each project.
