NICE Bus is pleased to offer an Architect Internship opportunity for the purpose of supplementing a student's educational pursuits with work experience. This internship is intended for students currently enrolled in a college program.
The intern will be given the opportunity to learn and apply technical skills and skills described below. The candidate will work closely with the Project Manager. The selected intern will assist the Facilities & Environmental Group in various projects including monitoring construction drawing review and as-built drawings for various facilities throughout the Nassau Inter County Bus System. The intern will gain extensive understanding and experience in the area of construction and maintenance. Duties will include, but not limited to, compiling data, design computations, preparing architectural and engineering plans, perform inspections, packaging construction contracts, reviewing designs, developing narratives on program plans and future projects, preparing/ developing work orders/ task orders and coordination as well as some administrative duties such as filing, copying. This position will require inter office travel a valid NYS driver''s license is required.
CADD such as AutoCAD
Knowledge of Microsoft Office, Acess and PowerPoint
Knowledge of Basic Design Principles
Some experience with performing field surveys and surveying tools
Written and verbal communication skills
Flexible with the ability to be self guided in tasks
Bachelor''s degree candidate in Architect, Engineering; or other related field of study.
