We provide custom design and engineering services, to high quality manufacturing standards, for the aircraft, engine and industrial heat exchangers in the mobile/marine/avionics/space and missile markets.
Ametek Hughes-Treitler is seeking a Production Planner to organize top level planning in order to coordinate customer, material, and production requirements.
This position will also create and maintain a production plan based on forecast, inventory levels, safety stock levels, and customer service levels while minimizing cost.
o Performs diversified duties involving the coordination, issuance and control of materials for the Business Segment Material Control Department.
o Analyzes Oracle reports/output recommendations and releases production orders to manufacturing and assembly areas.
o Evaluates Oracle reports/output recommendations and initiates appropriate actions related to cancellation, reschedule or modification to released jobs in manufacturing.
o Expedites purchased material components shortages with the appropriate buyer.
o Participates in daily scheduled factory order status meetings to achieve 100% on time performance.
o Interfaces closely with Marketing/Prototype engineers and the Customer Service Department to evaluate customer requirements and approve the release of materials in support of special projects and prototype builds.
o Monitors and adjusts as necessary, build schedules to maintain valid due dates on all orders.
Releases sufficient work to meet department earned hours' targets.
Informs immediate supervisor of potential voids and assists in remedial actions to make adjustments.
o Participates as a team member on task forces to reduce costs, inventory levels and improve on-time delivery of products to customer.
Required Skills and Abilities:
Strong communication, analysis, and math skills a plus.
Data analysis skills using Excel or equivalent is required Accurate data entry skills Highly organized and able to multitask Ability to work independently with little supervision Ability to effectively troubleshoot problems Education and
Experience:
Bachelor's degree in technical discipline and 3-5 years' experience working in a Production Control / Planning or Materials group in a manufacturing environment (equivalent experience will be considered) Experience with ERP business systems desirable.
