Responsibilities:
Teach graduate courses in speech-language pathology with opportunities to teach undergraduate and doctoral coursework according to departmental needsAcademic advisement of undergraduate and graduate studentsPromote a research culture in the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders by maintaining an active research agendaActive participation in school, college, university and professional committeesOpportunities to supervise students in the Hy Weinberg Center for Communication Disorders and/or doctoral research projects and thesesWork and communicate effectively with administrators, faculty, staff and students from diverse ethnic, cultural, and socioeconomic backgrounds
Qualifications:
Earned doctorate (Ph.
D/Ed.
D) in speech-language pathology or closely-related discipline is requiredApplicants nearing completion of the doctorate (ABD) may be considered, but the doctorate must be awarded by the date of appointmentExpertise in one or more of the following areas is preferred:
dysphagia, fluency, autism spectrum disorders, childhood speech disorders, and research methodologyRecord of teaching experience and evidence of scholarly workBi/Multilingual candidates are encouraged to applyA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from the American Speech- Language Hearing Association (ASHA) and eligibility for New York State licensure is desirableAPPLICATION:
